My apologies for not posting earlier today, but the connection to the server was lost just as I was trying to publish my blog page after school and I just now am getting another opportunity to post.  I will not be in school due to school business tomorrow and Thursday, but you are in very capable hands.  There will not be a help session as a result, but I will be in early on Friday.

8th grade:  After reviewing the quizzes you took Monday, I am making flashcards for vocabulary words mandatory.  You will need to prepare your entire list of words from p. 291 by Monday, or bring in a printed copy of one of  the classzone flashcards pages signed by a parent.  This week you will learn how to use IOP’s (indirect object pronouns) with marketplace phrasing.

7th Grade:  I was intending on giving the chapter exam Thursday and a written assessment Wednesday, however I will use the time you have with Sra. Leis to review chapter U1E2.  Your test will be on Friday when I return.  You must bring in a picture of a celebrity by tomorrow and glue it onto a piece of construction paper.   You will have the writing assessment when I return if you dont get to it with Sra. Leis.

8th grade:  Make sure you have done the practice quiz posted last Thursday and watch the video on haggling.  We had a quiz today.  HW tonight is to do verb cards from verbs o – ue found on page 278.  Make sure conjugate your verbs and write a sentence on the back of each one.

7th grade:  Today we watched a couple of powerpoints on describing La personalidad (personality) and various celebrities: Quien es presentation. We also reviewed homework from Mas Practica, pp. 20 -21.  Tonight’s homework is MP p. 22 – 23.   You need to bring in a color photo of a celebrity from the magazine or the internet to class by Tuesday for a writing activity.  We will have a speaking assessment on Tuesday in which you describe someone, as well as the listening component of our exam.  Our written chapter exam (u1e2) will be on Thursday.

8th grade:  Here’s the video on the art of Regatear from Monty Python’s Life of Brian.  For homework, finish MP 92 & do MP 93.  Go to yesterday’s blog entry and study the por & para grammar sheet and do the quiz.  Print the quiz out from yesterday’s blog entry.  Your quiz on Monday will cover o – ue verbs, vocab from the marketplace & artesania, as well as por and para.

7th grade:  You had a vocab quiz today.  You will have an exam on U4E2 Wednesday.

Part of your assessment for this chapter will include a a speaking PBA in which you need to describe someone which will take place on Tuesday.

You should have pages 21 – 22 completed in  MP by Monday so we can review.  MP pages 23 – 24 will be due on Tuesday.  By Tuesday I would like you to bring in a picture of someone from a magazine or printout that you will need to describe using the verbs ser, tener & llevar.

8th grade:  Today in class we started learning some verbs that have a o – ue stem change (grammar p. 278).  Make sure you completed activities 5, 6 & 7 from the text p. 277-279 in the text.  HW MP p. 92 & APT act. 1 – 2, pp 107 – 108.   Our quiz on vocabulary will be replaced by a quiz on vocab plus stem changing 0 – ue verbs on Monday.  You will also need to know some uses of por & para.  Try this quiz for practice.

7th grade:  Today we reviewed the homework from Tuesday:  Act. 14 – 15, p. 60 -61 and you were assigned a project in which you take a picture from a magazine and write three sentences with the following verbs: Ser, Tener & Llevar to say what he or she is like, what color eys & hair he / she has & what he / she is wearing.  Make sure to use adjectives to describe colors & physical characteristics.  We will have a vocabulary quiz tomorrow.

7th grade:  Finish 1/2 sheet that you started on for the sponge.  Use indefinite articles (un / una/ unos / unas) with nouns.  Make sure you have noun / article agreement.   Also write out Activities 14 & 15 from text p. 61 – 62.

8th prd:  Today we reviewed some vocabulary and  Tonight’s homework for 2nd period is the worksheet on definite & indefinite articles.  You have a vocab quiz this Thursday.

7th grade:  Today we reviewed adjectives regarding personality and physical features.  Homework is MP p. 19 – 20, 5 -9 plus the worksheet on definite / indefinite articles.

8th grade:  If you didn’t finish activity 3 on p. 276 in class today, do it for Monday.   If you missed class today, we read the dialogue on p. 274 & did activities 1 & 2, p. 276.  Access your on line book & read the script.   You need to master the new vocabulary of “making purchases”  on p. 291 by Wednesday.

7th grade:  HW:  all of MP p. 19. In class today we studied the difference in meaning between definite and indefinite articles.  They must agree in gender & number with the item they are describing.  (p. 56-57).  We completed activities 4 – 8.  Make sure you study your notes on adjectives and nouns used to describe people.

7th grade:  Today we watched the video on En Contexto p. 50 and learned new vocabulary words to describe appearances.  Tonight you will go to that same page in the online book & watch the video and take notes on which vocab words are adjectives and which are nouns.

8th: Today we used a map on the board to write out directions dialogues in downtown Atlanta for a classwork grade.  We also worked in groups of 4 to come up with directions using maps of Mexico City.  Homework tonight is to start learning vocabulary from U4E2. Use the book on line or flashcards to help with memorization & pronunciation.
