			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>8th grade:  Today students related the rules of DOP placement for IOP (Indirect Object Pronouns) and made sentences with the verb <strong>Dar (to give)</strong> to reflect what a vendor or customer might say while regateando (haggling) for price.  We also applied what we know about verbs to conjugate (o &#8211; ue) stem changer verbs.  We watched a funny video on those verbs and did a worksheet on DAR &amp; DORMIR.  No HW!</p>
<p>7th grade:  We reviewed our homework that made us conjugate AR verbs from page 109, using Frequency adverbs occasionally (de vez en cuando!).  We also recalled that when we have a specific subject we use <strong>TENER QUE + VERB </strong>to express what a specific person(s) has to do.  We also learned that <strong>HAY QUE + VERB </strong>is used when we don&#8217;t have a subject buy we want to make a broad generalization about what <strong>&#8220;one must do&#8221;</strong>.  No HW other than make sure you are studying for your PBA by making sure you can make the classroom supplies nouns plural and use indefinite articles (un / una / unos/ unas) with them to say what you have.</p>

<p><strong>7th grade</strong>:  Today we reviewed how to conjugate verbs which end in AR and we created sentences from our &#8216;checklist&#8217; of school activities.  Make sure you have 6 good sentences with various subjects and verbs based on that checklist.</p>
<p>HW:  Do the half sheet with the three different sections and be sure to go to page 109 in the text to memorize and conjugate those verbs.  I postponed the test until tomorrow to make sure everyone is conjugating correctly.   Make sure you also know the classroom objects and subjects.  <a href="http://www.classzone.com/books/en_espanol_1/page_build.cfm?id=none&amp;u=2">Classzone.com</a> is a good option for you to do flashcards and practice quizzes from chapter U2E1.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>8th grade:  Today we brainstormed on various ways to politely ask for and respond to requests for directions.  Refer to the vocab box on p. 262 &amp; the corresponding activity #18.</p>
<p>Our homework is to create a wordsearch with the vocabulary &#8220;Making Purchases&#8221; (1st column, p. 291).  You will need to hide 15 words &amp; your clues will be in English but you need to hide the Spanish equivalent (no definite articles) on the sheet I gave you.</p>
<p>7th grade:  Today we practiced asking questions of our partner (act. 9, p. 110) using the verbs on page 109.  We also did three listening comprehension activities about classroom objects and activities.  Our test is on MOnday!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>8th grade: Today I didn&#8217;t meet with my morning classes due to the GA Writing Assessment but you still need to finish your worksheet with commands with activities 9-12 &amp; 20-22, using direct object pronouns when you can.  You also need to write out verses to the marching chorus or a rap that uses commands and then the same commands with a DOP attached.</p>
<p>We will have a test next Thursday, January 27 on commands with DOP&#8217;s and the new marketplace vocabulary from U4E2, the next chapter.</p>
<p>7th grade:  Although we didn&#8217;t meet you are still expected to finish your homework by Friday of conjugating 16 verbs which end in -ar.  See page 109 for the verb vocab list and an example.  Include three from earlier in the year.  Write in the Infinitive above the conjugated forms, then define the verb in English.  We&#8217;ll eventually write a sentence for each verb in the big box on the right of conjugations.  Your vocab / grammar test is on Monday and your chapter test is next Friday.</p>

<p>7th:  today we reviewed subject pronouns and did activity #7, p. 109 after going over the grammar in which you conjugate a verb whose infinitive ends with &#8216;AR&#8217;.  HW  is to use the template I gave you to conjugate all 13 AR verbs listed on page 109 vocab box and <strong>three</strong> more AR verbs from our first Unit:  either Cantar / Hablar / Patinar / Nadar / Trabajar/ or Bailar.</p>
